CHICAGO — Diego Villada, 15, has died after being shot in Hermosa on Saturday, officials said.
At 12:35 p.m., the boy was in an alley near the 2100 block of North Tripp Avenue when two people confronted him and fired shots, police said.
The boy was hit in his head and was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in critical condition, police said. The shooters ran away.
Villada, of the 1200 block of North Tripp, was pronounced dead at 9:45 a.m. Monday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
