CHICAGO — Gunsaulus Scholastic Academy, 4420 S. Sacramento Ave., is hosting a free public fiber art event on Wednesday from 4-5:30 p.m.

Students and parents have been participating in a 12-week, intergenerational, bilingual fiber art class led by Gunsaulus art teacher Kimberly Tolbert and ElevArte Teaching Artist Shannon Downey.

The team of 12 students, four parents and two instructors have created a massive fiber art piece centered around the student-driven theme of unity, inclusion and global peace, which will be unveiled at the event and installed at the school, according to a news release.
