ALBANY PARK — Chef Arun Sampanthavivat has reopened his namesake Thai restaurant after shuttering briefly at the beginning of the year to refresh the 32-year-old fine dining destination.

As reported by Chicago magazine in 2016, Arun's, 4156 N. Kedzie Ave., was originally slated to close for good, but Sampanthavivat brought a new investor on board instead and has spent the past two months retooling the restaurant's menu.

"I am very excited about this new chapter for Arun’s, which has allowed me to return to my true passion of delivering elevated Thai fare to our guests,” Sampanthavivat said in a statement.

The chef is back in the kitchen, recreating old favorites and developing new dishes for Arun's prix fixe 10- and 12-course menus, which cost $100 and $125 respectively. Meals are mix of individual and shared dishes, and craft cocktails have become a greater focus.

Check out some of the gorgeous plating art Arun's has been practicing.
