NORTH PARK — A city parking enforcement aide accused by residents of overly aggressive ticketing tactics has been transferred from the 39th Ward.

The parking enforcement aide had been the subject of much discussion among members of a private neighborhood Facebook page, with some grumbling about tickets issued to parents during school drop-offs, and others citing incidents involving contractors.

"I'm parked in front of the church waiting for preschool doors to open and I've seen him give 3 tickets in 10 minutes. Run! Hide your cars! Give your contractors signs!" one Facebook poster wrote.

"He tickets at preschool drop off too when parents leave their cars in front of the school with flashers on while they walk their 3 year olds into school for 6 min..." said another.

"What's his beef? Sheesh," read another post.

On his Facebook page, the aide posted comments that further angered area residents, in one post boasting he had written 103 tickets in a single shift, calling it a "slow day."

In another, the aide wrote, "Chicago, you've been warned. I'm working Sunday. Don't Park Illegally when you go to worship your God of choice."

A spokesman for 39th Ward Ald. Margaret Laurino said that the office received "multiple calls from constituents" regarding the aide. The alderman forwarded email complaints to the aide's supervisor, said the spokesman, Manuel Galvan.

The supervisor told the alderman that the aide has been reassigned outside the 39th Ward.

Efforts to reach the parking enforcement aide were unsuccessful.
