Date With Chicago's 'Most Eligible Bachelor' Up For Auction For Charity

By Kelly Bauer | March 20, 2017 12:20pm

CHICAGO — You can snag "Chicago's Most Eligible Bachelor" for at least one night at an upcoming auction.

Ryan Stew, who gained internet fame when his friends put up a dating ad for him at a Wicker Park bus stop, will be on the auctioning block for a charity to benefit the Chicago Force women's football team.

The ad described Stew, originally of southwest suburban Tinley Park, as a "respected educator" and "2016 fantasy football loser" who "perspires ambitiously." His friends — and fantasy football competitors — put up the ad after he came in last place in the league in 2016, according to the Daily Southtown.

The ad got attention online, with people sharing photos of them at the bus stop using the hashtag #TrySomeStew.

One-night dates with Stew and his friend (and fantasy football rival), Sean Wyrobek, will be available at the auction.

The auction is 9 p.m. March 25 at Martyrs, 3855 N. Lincoln Ave. Tickets are $15 in advance online or $20 at the door. There will also be live music and a raffle.
