LOGAN SQUARE — Two garage fires broke out in Logan Square within 35 minutes of each other early Monday, according to police.

Around 1 a.m., a fire broke out in a residential garage in the 2400 block of North Harding Avenue, destroying cars and spreading to other garages, according to police.

The fire started in garbage cans in the alley, police said.

About 35 minutes later, police said authorities were called to the scene of another garage fire in the 3800 block of West Wrightwood Avenue, just a few blocks away.

Garages on both sides, as well as another car, were all damaged in the blaze. Officials were seen repairing power lines in the alley Monday afternoon.

Police could not immediately say what caused the second fire.

It is unclear if the two incidents are linked. Police said both incidents remain under investigation.
