LINCOLN SQUARE — Think you've got what it takes to work out like "Notorious RBG" — Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg?

Be prepared to sweat. A lot.

Prompted by an article in Politico, in which Ginsburg's personal trainer put reporter Ben Schreckinger through the justice's fitness regimen, trainers at Galter Life Center, 5157 N. Francisco Ave., created a modified "workout of the week" designed to mimic RBG's.

On Wednesday — coincidentally RBG's birthday — Galter trainer Ann Almeda led the class through three circuits of five exercises: single-leg squats, single-leg reverse lunges with a row, step-ups, single-arm lat pull-down on a stability ball, and push-ups combined with mountain climbers.

"It's total body — legs, core, everything," said Almeda, who got into the spirit of the occasion by donning a Ginsburg-style robe over her regular exercise gear.

Perspiration pouring off her face, Bianca Casaubon, 37, declared the 30-minute session "intense."

"I can't imagine her being 82," Casaubon said of the justice. (Actually, Ginsburg just turned 84.)

Like Almeda, Francie Habash, 49, was in full RBG costume, tackling the workout in a borrowed graduation robe.

"The extra layers added heat," said Habash. "It was hard to step."

"You don't think she [RBG] wears the robe," wondered Billie Kersh, 35, who decided spandex was more likely.

At 50, Lisa Ivey was the oldest member of the class, and yet still decades younger than Ginsburg.

The justice, along with the elderly women Ivey often sees at Galter, are an inspiration, she said.

"There's a lot of strong 70- and 80-year-old women here," said Ivey. "They're strong as nails."
