Logan Square Shootings Wound Teens, 17 And 16, Police Say

CHICAGO — Separate shootings in Logan Square have wounded two teens since Wednesday, police said.

• Most recently, at 12:30 a.m. Thursday, officers responding to a call of shots fired found a wounded 17-year-old in an alley in the 2400 block of West Moffat Street, police said.

The teen had been shot in his head and right arm and was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in critical condition, police said.

The victim and witnesses were uncooperative, a police source said, and the circumstances of the shooting were unknown.

The teen was a documented gang member, a police source said.

• At 3:44 p.m. Wednesday, a 16-year-old boy was in the 2500 block of West Cortland Street when he was shot in his leg, police said.

The boy was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, police said.

No further information was immediately available.

No one was in custody in the shootings.
