IRVING PARK — Folks in Irving Park have been waiting a year for Miko's Italian Ice to open in the neighborhood, so what's a few more weeks?

Come April 15, at noon sharp, Miko's will open all three locations for the season — Logan Square, Bucktown and yes, Irving Park — owner Zach Roombos confirmed to DNAinfo.

Roombos announced the launch of the Irving Park shop, 4125 N. Kimball Ave., in January 2016 and set his sights on a June debut, which got pushed back to August and then finally into 2017.

"We got pretty busy last summer with the other two locations and weren't able to pull it all together to open in Irving Park," he said.

"Now we're putting some finishing touches on the shop and are just waiting for the right kind of weather," Roombos said.

Not to be confused with a snow cone or slushie, Italian ice is made from real fruit, sugar and water. Miko's will open with a limited menu of six flavors at the start of the season, including lemon, which is the most traditional, and most popular, flavor, Roombos said.

"We plan to add more flavors to the board as the weather gets nicer," he said.

Let the countdown begin.
