GLADSTONE PARK — The generations of music represented at this year's Throwback Music Fest will reach into the golden age of '90s alt-rock, with the Gin Blossoms headlining the three-day festival's return to Gladstone Park this summer, organizers announced Wednesday.

Organized for the first time last year by the Gladstone Park Chamber of Commerce and Gladstone Park Neighborhood Association, the festival in will be held at the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Peterson Avenue.

The all-female cover band The PriSSillas will headline the festival's first night on Sept. 8, with the Gin Blossoms playing Sept. 9 and the '80s tribute band Sixteen Candles finishing out the lineup on Sept. 10. Woven throughout will be local artists transcending a half-century of hits, from Johnny Cash to the Backstreet Boys.

Festival-goers will be able to stop by a beer tent and a line of food trucks, or they can test their mettle on a mechanical bull, one of last year's most popular attractions, organizers said.

The weekend will also feature a costume-themed pet parade on Sept. 9 and an antique car show on Sept. 10.

The money raised from each $5 entrance ticket will fund the Gladstone Park Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund, which awards money to grade school students who keep stellar grades and win an essay contest.
