ALBANY PARK — CVS is closing 11 Chicago locations, including its store and pharmacy on Pulaski Road.

The company had previously announced its plan to shutter a total of 70 stores in various markets in the first quarter of this year. Among the locations on the chopping block: 4540 N. Pulaski Road.

The store's last day will be March 25 and pharmacy prescriptions will be transferred to the CVS at 3343 W. Montrose Ave., CVS spokeswoman Stephanie Cunha said.

"Customers will not see a disruption in service," Cunha said.

The company is working to place the Pulaski employees at CVS' remaining Chicago stores, she said.

Customers shouldn't expect great deals on deeply discounted merchandise in advance of the closing, though.

Select merchandise will be placed on clearance but "most will be absorbed in our other locations," Cunha said.

In December, Dave Denton, CVS Health's executive vice president and chief financial officer, told investors that the store closings would save the company an expected $265 million by the end of this year.
