OAKLAND — The Mamby on the Beach Festival is planning to come back in June, but is trying to raise some money for neighborhood nonprofits before it returns to Oakwood Beach for a third year.
The music festival organizers are trying to raise $10,000 in donations on its GoFundMe page and will personally jump into Lake Michigan if the fundraising goal is reached.
The donations will benefit Bright Star Community Outreach in Bronzeville.
If the Mamby on the Beach fundraising goal is hit by March 11, seven of the festival's staff members have said they will jump into the lake that same day.
Mamby on the Beach will return to Oakwood Beach, 4200 S. Lake Shore Drive, on June 24 and June 25.
The festival already has begun ticket sales, but has not announced acts performing this year.
