UPTOWN — Officers from the Lincoln Police District will square off with young basketball players from the McCormick-Pederson Boys and Girls Club and Ald. Harry Osterman (48th) Wednesday night.

The event grew out of an idea from a player at the club who wanted to "bridge the gap" between Uptown youths and the police, according to the 48th Ward office.

The exhibition will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the club, 4835 N. Sheridan Road.
