CHICAGO — Steve Jackson, 45, was shot to death in South Shore on Sunday afternoon, officials said.
At 1:44 p.m., the man was walking in the 2400 block of East 75th Street when someone walked up and fired shots, police said.
The man was hit in his face and neck and taken to Northwestern Hospital in critical condition, police said.
Jackson, of the 7800 block of South Muskegon Avenue, was pronounced dead at 2:31 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
Another man, 54, was shot in his right thigh and was taken to Northwestern Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.
No one was in custody.
