HYDE PARK — The Museum of Science and Industry is adding a new Lego creation as its “Brick by Brick” exhibit is extended through Labor Day.

The exhibit was originally slated to close in February, but due to popularity it will be extended through Sept. 4, with the addition of a new Lego creation on Feb. 18.

Professional Lego builder Adam Reed Tucker has built a new creation for the remainder of the exhibit’s run, a re-creation of the world’s first Ferris wheel.

The Ferris wheel was invented for the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition, the massive event in Jackson Park that also included the construction of the museum’s building as an art gallery.

Tucker has built the Ferris wheel out of Legos for the entry hall to the exhibit.

According to the museum, the new creation will be installed on Feb. 18 and is 5 feet tall and 4 feet wide.

The exhibit is not included with general admission and requires an additional timed ticket, which costs $9 for adults and $7 for children ages 3-11.
