WICKER PARK — Crafts & Drafts, an event company that hosts Do-It-Yourself parties in bars across the city, will head to Links Taproom in Wicker Park on Wednesday, offering participants a chance to make their own desk or bedside lamp out of an industrial pipe.
During the gathering, which lasts from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and costs $65 for all of the materials and guided instruction, attendees will "wire and assemble their own custom industrial pipe lamp," says organizer Ananda Neureither.
Links Taproom is located at 1559 N. Milwaukee Ave.
Neureither said the cost of the event does not include food or drinks but Links will have specials that night, such as $10 mac and cheese.
"This is our first class in Wicker Park and the first one doing Pipe Lamps. I started doing craft classes a little over a year ago mostly in the Lincoln Park and Lakeview area, doing on average one public event a month and then private events for bachelorette parties and corporate events," she said.
