PORTAGE PARK — The Six Corners Association and Community Tavern, 4038 N. Milwaukee Ave., will host an evening of live music and discounted drinks to help neighbors commiserate through winter doldrums.

The event, titled "Wine About Winter," will include martinis, wine by the glass and a list of appetizers, all for $5 apiece. The "Gypsy jazz" duo La Pompe will perform for guest.

Quay Tao, the owner of Community Tavern, said he hopes the event is the first of many joint ventures with the association.

"Getting people together to provide each other some comfort really fits our name and our theme, so we were happy to do it," Tao said. "It brings more visibility to Six Corners, and to Portage Park."

"Wine about Winter" will run from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
