LOGAN SQUARE — What do Lost Lake bartenders drink when there are no customers around?

Find out at the tiki bar's new monthly series, "Shift-Ease," which kicks off Tuesday, from 9 p.m. - 2 a.m.

On the fourth Tuesday of each Month, the bar at 3154 W. Diversey Ave. will offer a special menu of "shifties," which is the name the bartenders came up with for the unique cocktails they make themselves at the end of a long shift as they're breaking down the bar.

The idea came about when the bartenders were temporarily out of work after an electrical fire forced Lost Lake and the adjoining Thank You Chinese counter to close in March. During that time, the bar community hosted pop-ups so the bartenders could make some money; one of those pop-ups was "Shift-Ease."

Each event will benefit a different charity. The first installment will benefit the Chicago Fire Department's charity of choice, Ignite the Spirit. The bar will also donate $5 of every Corn N' Oil cocktail to Chicago nonprofit Embarc in honor of Jacob Johnson.

While Lost Lake reopened about a month after the fire, Thank You never did. The Chinese food counter has remained closed ever since. But, if the event's Facebook post is any indication, a reimagined food counter may be in the works. According to the post, the team is at work reconstructing the kitchen and "dreaming up big things for 2017."

A spokeswoman for Land and Sea Dept. wasn't immediately available for further comment.

Check out the Tuesday menu below:
