LINCOLN SQUARE — Following a pair of high-profile crimes, neighbors will have their first opportunity to talk with Lincoln Square's beat cops at Tuesday night's CAPS meeting.

The joint meeting for Beats 1911 and 1912 is set for 7 p.m. at Sulzer Library, 4455 N. Lincoln Ave.

The boundaries for Beat 1911 — Lawrence Avenue to Irving Park Road, Damen Avenue to the Chicago River — encompass the area where earlier this month a man was robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight, as well as a theft from Ruff Haus Pets that led to a foot chase by police and the shop's staff.

The boundaries for Beat 1912 are Lawrence Avenue to Irving Park Road and Damen Avenue to Clark Street.

The district recently came under the command of Mark Buslik, who served as the Chicago Police Department's liaison with the Department of Justice during a just completed federal probe of the city's police force.

According to a DNAinfo data report, the total number of crimes reported in Beats 1911 and 1912 has steadily declined since 2013.

In Beat 1911, crime is down from 941 reported incidents in 2013 to 695 incidents in 1016.

In Beat 1912, crime is down from 1,035 incidents in 2013 to 761 in 2016.
