LOGAN SQUARE — Hairpin Arts Center is debuting a new series revolving around current events.

The first installation, "Art on the Fly," is centered on the presidential election. "Election Ramifications: Through the Lens of Art" is debuting Friday evening at Hairpin, 2810 N. Milwaukee Ave., from 7-10 p.m.

The exhibit will include election-focused pieces from artists across the country, including New Yorker cartoonist Tom Bachtell.

Also on Friday organizers are installing an art installation tied to the exhibit at Woodard Plaza at the corner of Milwaukee, Kimball and Diversey avenues.

On Monday, which is inauguration day, Hairpin is hosting a discussion about the exhibit led by artists and a panel of experts, beginning at 7 p.m.

The exhibit will remain up through Jan. 23.
