HUMBOLDT PARK — The neighborhood's 22nd annual Three Kings Day parade kicks off Friday afternoon.

The parade will go from 3-6 p.m., beginning at Division and Campbell streets and ending at the Humboldt Park field house, according to Ald. Roberto Maldonado (26th).

There will be gifts for children under 12, music, photo opportunities, and hot chocolate.

This year's parade is dedicated to Oscar López Rivera, a Puerto Rican Nationalist who has been in jail for 35 years for his part in turning Puerto Rico into an independent communist state.

Three Kings Day, or Día de Los Reyes, is celebrated on Jan. 6 in Hispanic communities throughout the world. The holiday marks the culmination of the Christmas season, or the "Day of the Epiphany" in the Catholic church.
