DOWNTOWN — A months-long rash of burglaries in the Loop has drawn the attention of Downtown police, who are telling nearby shops to stay alert.

The suspect or suspects break into stores, bars, and restaurants in the Loop and take valuables, police said.

• 3:10 a.m. Sept. 9 in the 100 block of West Van Buren Street

• Between 7 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. Sept. 12-13 in the 100 block of West Van Buren Street

• Between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. in the 100 block of West Van Buren Street

• 3 a.m. Sept. 13 in the 100 block of West Van Buren Street

• Between 8:40 p.m. and 11:20 p.m. Sept. 25 in the first block of North LaSalle Street

• Between 5 p.m. and 7 a.m. in the 200 block of West Randolph Street

Some of the crimes mimic those reported last fall by police, who described a man who broke into office buildings near the Chicago Board of Trade and stole electronics. Police said the Loop business burglaries are part of a pattern, but declined to say whether they were still seeking the man described in September.
