CHICAGO — Matthew Herring, 32, was shot dead in Washington Park Wednesday night, officials said.
At around 8:48 p.m. Wednesday, the man was in front of a house in the 6200 block of South Indiana Avenue when one or more people walked up and began firing, police said.
The man was struck in his head and was taken to St. Bernard Hospital in critical condition before being pronounced dead, police said.
Herring, of the same block where he was killed, was pronounced dead at 9:08 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
No arrests have been made.
