Don't Leave Your Dog Poop On This Street — Unless You Want To Eat It

By Ed Komenda | December 29, 2016 3:05pm

BRIDGEPORT — Folks here sure know how to get their message across.

Someone in the Bridgeport neighborhood made a not-so-subtle sign for dog walkers.

"IF YOUR DOG SH--- HERE AND YOU DONT PICK IT UP AND I CATCH YOU, I WILL MAKE YOU EAT IT, I PROMISE."

Taylor Brown spotted the sign Sunday evening. It was taped to a tree in the 3300 block of South Wallace Street.

"My first thoughts were 'OMG, this is the funniest thing ever,'" Brown said.

She snapped a photo, and the sign disappeared a couple days later.

"They took it down like Monday or Tuesday once the snow started melting," said Brown, who moved onto the Bridgeport block last week. "The post definitely made sense, because the tree it was on was surrounded by mounds of dog waste."

If you've lived in Chicago long enough, you know this to be certain: Snow does not magically dissolve your dog's poop.

"It was ridiculous," she said.

Thankfully, there have been no reports of a crazed Bridgeport resident wielding dog poop as a deadly weapon — yet.
