7 Wounded In Shootings Since Tuesday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings on the South and West sides wounded seven people since Tuesday evening, according to police.

• Most recently, at 12:02 a.m. Wednesday, a 30-year-old man was shot in East Garfield Park, police said.

The man was outside in the 3400 block of West Van Buren Street when he was shot in his left calf and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was treated and released, police said.

• At 10:40 p.m., a 29-year-old was shot in Englewood, police said. 

The man was sitting in a parked car in the 500 block of West 65th Place when another man walked up and fired into the car, police said. He was struck multiple times and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition, police said.

• At 10 p.m., two teens were shot in Brighton Park.

• At 8:04 p.m., a 17-year-old was shot in Fuller Park, police said.

He was standing in front of a home in the 4400 block of South Wells Street when a car drove by and someone inside began firing, police said. He was struck in his arm and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition.

• At 7:24 p.m., a 33-year-old man was shot in Greater Grand Crossing, police said.

The man was sitting in a parked car in the 6900 block of South State Street when a man tried to open his driver's side door, police said. He drove off, and the attacker fired shots, striking the man in his arm. The man got himself to St. Bernard Hospital, where his condition was not released but police considered him to be stable.

• At 6:08 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was shot in Austin, police said.

He was in the 5500 block of West Corcoran Place when he was shot in the leg and was taken to West Suburban Hospital, where his condition was not released but police considered him to be stable.
