9 Dead, 30 Wounded In Weekend Shootings, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings killed nine people and wounded 30 others since Friday, according to police.

Most of the violence was carried out Friday and Saturday, including four people killed in a Far South Side shooting Saturday afternoon, police said. Five were killed and 13 were wounded on Friday and four were killed with 14 wounded since Saturday.

• Most recently, at 12:18 a.m. Monday, a 26-year-old man was shot in Greater Grand Crossing, police said.

He was found inside a home in the 7800 block of South Ingleside Avenue with a gunshot wound to the left foot and was taken to Jackson Park Hospital, where his condition was not released but police considered him to be stable.

• At 3:57 p.m. Sunday, a 24-year-old man was shot in Auburn Gresham, police said.

He was in a car in the 1700 block of West 75th Place when somebody began firing at him, police said. He was struck in his arm and managed to get himself to Holy Cross Hospital before being transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was not released but police considered him to be stable.

• At 3:33 p.m., a 17-year-old was shot in Pilsen.

No arrests have been made.
