THE LOOP — How cold is Chicago right now? Apparently too cold for Aretha Franklin, who's postponed her Chicago Theatre show again to wait for warmer forecasts.

Franklin's show Saturday at the Loop theater, 175 N. State St., has been pushed to March 31, 2017 due to "the potential for bad weather and unsafe travel conditions," according to a statement.

The announcement marks the second time Franklin has postponed a Chicago show this year. The legendary songstress also rescheduled a November show this year.

"I look forward to spending the holidays in Chicago with my fans and friends," Franklin, 74, said then.

This week's unusually cold weather is having its way with Chicagoans who have changed their own schedules to deal with dangerously low temperatures. Mayor Rahm Emanuel visited needy seniors Thursday, and tickets for Sunday's Bears game are selling for $35 as the team braces for perhaps the coldest game ever at Soldier Field.

Those planning to attend Saturday's show simply need to hang on to their tickets for the new date, the theater said.
