COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A suburban man pointed a gun at another driver on the Kennedy Expy. during a fit of road rage Tuesday, prosecutors said.

Jusuf Perezic, 27, and a 46-year-old driver were repeatedly cutting in front of each other when Perezic began waving a 9 mm handgun about 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, Assistant State's Attorney Erin Antonietti said during a bond hearing Wednesday.

Perezic soon boxed in the other driver by bringing his 2005 Nissan Maxima to an abrupt halt on the expressway's outbound lanes near Irving Park Road, according to police and prosecutors.

The 46-year-old driver was able to merge into another lane and speed away, Antonietti said. The man called police, court records show, and a state trooper pulled over Perezic's car about 4:20 p.m.

According to an arrest report, Perezic admitted to having a loaded gun in the glove box and said he'd had an argument with another driver. Officers recovered a 9 mm handgun, two magazines and a gun holster.

Perezic, of northwes suburban Rolling Meadows, has a valid firearm owner's identification card and concealed-carry license, prosecutors said.

He is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

Cook County Judge Laura Sullivan on Wednesday set bail at $10,000.
