CHICAGO — A Georgia man was shot dead during a robbery in Chatham on Wednesday night, officials said.
At 10:10 p.m., the man was on the sidewalk in the 8200 block of South Perry Avenue when a man with a gun walked up and started to rob him before firing shots at the man, police said.
The victim was hit in his head, police said.
Antonian Mixon, of Lithonia, Ga., was pronounced dead at 2:15 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The shooter got into a silver car and drove away, police said. No one was in custody.
