ALBANY PARK — The Admiral Theatre is collecting toys for kids, but the drive itself is decidedly adults-only.

The Albany Park strip club, 3940 W. Lawrence Ave., is holding its annual "Lap Dance For the Needy" toy drive.

Anyone who donates an unused, unwrapped toy can get a free lap dance, the club said. The drive runs until Wednesday. The theater is open from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and is open every day except Christmas Eve.

"It's for the kids!" the club said on Facebook. Lap dances usually cost at least $10, the club's website says.

Nick Cecola, who runs promotions at the venue, said it has collected "hundreds" of toys over the years doing the event.

"We have donated to Toys for Tots in the past, local churches and other various shelters and organizations," he said. "We have always kept it anonymous."

The adult entertainment venue has been well-known in the neighborhood for years.

In 2015, Albany Park Neighbors awarded the Admiral Theatre a Block Star Business Award "in recognition of their role in helping keep Albany Park beautiful."

Qualifications for the award include maintaining a clean sidewalk and well-kept storefront, providing adequate places to dispose of trash, helping minimize the amount of waste customers bring with them into the neighborhood and encouraging other business to do the same.

In 2012, the venue added burlesque shows to its repertoire with the hope of widening its audience to include more women and people who enjoy a flair for the theatrics of burlesque.
