ALBANY PARK — More police officers will be on the beat in Albany Park, Irving Park and North Park, according to the neighborhoods' aldermen.

Ald. Carlos Ramirez-Rosa (35th) and Ald. Deb Mell (33rd) both reported the news of increased police manpower in the Albany Park (17th) Police District in their weekly emails to constituents.

Six probationary officers are undergoing training by eight field training officers, the aldermen said.

Meanwhile, none of the district's officers retired in November, according to Mell.

The Albany Park Police District, headquartered at 4650 N. Pulaski Road, is under the command of Elias Voulgaris.

The district's boundaries are Belmont Avenue to the south, Devon Avenue to the north, the Chicago River to the east and Cicero Avenue to the west.

Communities served by the district include Albany Park, Avondale, Irving Park, Mayfair, North Mayfair, North Park and Ravenswood Manor.
