Every holiday season heralds a friendly competition among Edgebrook and Sauganash residents, as neighbors try to claim the most spectacular displays of light and color outside their homes.
Some locals — and a bunch of suburbanites — have been known to trek to the Northwest Side neighborhoods to enjoy decorations this time of year.
On some nights there are even traffic jams as lines of slow-moving cars snake through the area's winding streets.
