CHICAGO — A shooting on the Near North Side wounded three men early Saturday, police said.

At 2:50 a.m., the men were in the street in the 0-100 block of West Elm Street when a gray SUV pulled up and someone inside got out and fired shots, police said.

A 21-year-old man was hit in his left foot, a 23-year-old man was hit in his left ankle and a 28-year-old man was hit in his buttocks, police said. They were all taken to Northwestern Hospital, where they were listed in "good to stable" conditions, police said.

The motive of the shooting was not immediately clear, a police source said, but officers were investigating a possible drugs connection.

No one was in custody.
