ANDERSONVILLE — CBD Kratom has opened its second location in Andersonville.

The store at 5303 N. Clark St., like the Bucktown location, offers a variety of Kratom strains, cannabidiol products along with a variety of other supplements and natural pain relievers, said Andrew Goth, an employee at the store.

Kratom, or Mitragyna Speciosa, is a tropical tree native to Southeast Asia similar to the coffee plant that "has been used as a traditional medicine for the past 2,000 years." The plant offers "pain relief, energy, relaxation and euphoria," according to a press release for the store.

The store carries Kratom as a capsule or in a powder form, which can be mixed into any liquid for easy digestion, the release said.

CBD is extracted from either cannabis or hemp. All CBD products at the store contain less than 0.1 percent tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), according to the release. THC is "the chemical responsible for most of marijuana's psychological effects," according to Live Science.

The store carries CBD vape oils, tinctures, nighttime syrups, wax, crystals, oils, lotions, muscle patches and edibles such as gummies, goldfish crackers, rice krispies treats and chocolate covered pretzels.

CBD Kratom also carries other supplements including Kava, Kanna, Tongkat Ali, Boswelia, White Willow, Aloe Vera, Blue Lotus, Turmeric, Ashwagandha Extract, Panax Ginseng and Moringa Extract, according to its website.

The store is open from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. daily.
