NORTH PARK — A four-bedroom, 3½-bathroom home at 3251 W. Ardmore Ave. is listed for $620,000.

Carmen and Tony Rodriguez with Coldwell Banker said the 2,800-square-foot brick house is on a double lot in a hot neighborhood.

The front door leads to a gallery-style foyer with a wrap-around staircase. The first floor has a den with south and west exposures, a spacious formal dining room that overlooks rear gardens, and an "impressive" living room, the agents said.

The kitchen has been completely gutted and rehabbed, with new cabinets, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances.

"The house is particularly elegant because it has kept some of its period design elements in surprise places throughout the house — the Dentil crown molding in the living room is original to the house, the hand-plastered archways are all intact, the main chandelier is vintage, the two original octagon windows in the front facade have been preserved, the original built-in ironing board is still in the basement, the original root room is still there, and the wood paneling and built-ins in the basement are in pristine condition, as is the stonework around that lower level fireplace," Carmen Rodriguez said.

"There’s a second floor balcony that overlooks the yard, and the dining room has a wall of windows that open up the room to the gardens at the east end of the property."

The upper level has a master bedroom with en suite bathroom and walk-in closet, along with three other spacious bedrooms and another full bathroom between the two larger bedrooms. There is also a laundry room, and the finished lower level has another full bathroom.

The home's infrastructure has been updated, and the outdoor areas have been finished and landscaped — the fenced yard, screened gazebo, stone pathways, multi-level deck out back beautiful perennials and mature plants.

This house is not far from the Brown Line "L," the Ravenswood Metra stop and the Edens Expy., and it's close to restaurants, cafes, shops, parks, schools, biking/jogging paths and a few university campuses.
