DOWNTOWN — The Blackhawks might be a dynasty team that's brought home three Stanley Cups since 2010 — but they're still worth less than the New York Rangers, according to a new report.

The Blackhawks are only worth $925 million, according to a report from Forbes, though they've had the highest regular-season attendance for the eighth season in a row and are one of the most successful teams in the league in recent history.

The Rangers — who haven't brought home the cup since 1994 — are worth $1.25 billion, making them the most valuable team in the NHL for the second straight year, according to Forbes.

The Montreal Canadiens ($1.12 billion) and Toronto Maple Leafs ($1.1 billion) also beat out the Hawks, though both those teams are worth less now than they were a year ago, according to Forbes.

Chicago still has the best fans of any NHL city, though, according to Forbes. In fact, Blackhawks fans have increased by 446 percent since 2007 — and there's been a 600 percent increase in the female fan base for the team.

About 3.6 million in and around Chicago describe themselves as fans of the team, Forbes said, and the United Center has been on a sellout streak (up to 385 games now) since 2008.

Other interesting tidbits from Forbes: Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews is now the most highly paid player in the NHL (he's expected to get $16 million in salary and endorsements), while Patrick Kane comes in at No. 3 in the league with $14.8 million in earnings.

The Blackhawks are also the team that gets the most bang for the buck: Though the team spends the third-most on players in the league, they're "far and away the most successful team in the postseason," according to Forbes.
