CHICAGO — Diego Alvarado, 16, was shot to death in Back of the Yards on Friday night, officials said.
At 6:40 p.m., the boy was outside in the 4800 block of South Throop Street when he heard shots and felt pain, police said.
The boy was hit in his back, groin and arm and was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.
Alvarado, of the same block where he was killed, was pronounced dead at 7:32 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
No one was in custody.
