CHICAGO — Residents and businesses across downtown Edgebrook will come together Sunday to usher in the holiday season with cookies, caroling and crafts, all leading up the lighting of the neighborhood's Christmas tree.

Residents are invited to take part in a "cookie walk" between 3-5 p.m., with more than 20 different businesses offering free baked goods, according to the Edgebrook Community Association.

Also from 3-5 p.m.:

• The cooks at Ivy's Burgers, Hot Dogs & Fries, 5419 W. Devon Ave., will be pouring hot chocolate.

• People will be invited to create their own "heirloom ornaments" at North Branch Arts, 5421 W. Devon Ave.

• A Santa Claus will pose for photos at Creativo Academy, 5407 W. Devon Ave.

At 4 p.m., storefronts across the Edgebrook Business District will light up their decorations all at once.

At 5:15 p.m., community members will light the neighborhood's Christmas tree at the intersection of Devon, Lehigh and Caldwell Avenues.

After that, a bonfire will burn in the North Community Garden, with pizza and refreshments served.
