BRIDGEPORT — Get ready, shoppers. Many of the neighborhood's small businesses are offering some bonkers sales this weekend.
On Saturday, a day after throngs of shoppers rush the shelves of department stores nationwide for Black Friday, more than 50 Bridgeport businesses will offer their own deals for the 5th Annual Shop Small Bridgeport Chicago.
"We've had an awesome embrace from the community," said Leanne Scanlon, a Shop Small organizer and co-owner of Hardscrabble Gifts, 3335 S. Halsted St. "This year, having more participants means the reach will bring in even more."
Businesses all over Bridgeport will host in-store activities and offer discounts and incentives to infuse the neighborhood with cash.
"We expect this to be the best one yet," Scanlon said.
