UPTOWN — Second Fridays on Argyle returns a week late this month with a trip to Miss Saigon featuring a new menu and live music from Manny Garcia.

From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, the restaurant at 1129 W. Argyle St. will play host to the monthly event intended to not only showcase food at a local business but also bring the community together to talk safety and improving the community, according to the 48th Ward and Axis Lab, which sponsors the event.

Miss Saigon took over the former space of King of Thai Noodles and Rice back in March offering a small selection of Saigon dishes, according to owner Vincent Le, who also owns 2 Asian Brothers, at 3222 W. Foster Ave.

The dishes are "basically some of the stuff my wife misses" from Vietnam, Le said at the time. "We're doing it a little different than some of the other restaurants around here that have 300 dishes on their menu."

On Friday, the restaurant will showcase a new menu that incorporates "current food trends... seen in Saigon today" including "Vietnamese interpretations of Cambodian, Laotian and Korean dishes," according to the press release.

During the event, drinks will be 50 percent off with the purchase of any entree, the release said.
