CHICAGO — CPS students will break for the Thanksgiving holiday beginning Wednesday of next week, according to the school district.
Thanksgiving break for students begins on Wednesday, Nov. 23 and will last until Friday, Nov. 25.
Teachers and students don't have to be in class Wednesday, but CPS administrative workers are still expected to come in, according to CPS's calendar. Teachers also do not get paid for the off day Wednesday.
Students will return to school Monday, Nov. 28.

For Chicago Public Schools students, the last day of school before Christmas break is Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, just a few days ahead of Christmas (which is on a Sunday this year.)
The kids will return from winter vacation on Monday, Jan. 9, 2017.
Other upcoming winter holidays are: Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, for Martin Luther King Day and Monday Feb. 20, 2017, for President's Day.
