Harry Cannon Jr. Killed, Another Man Wounded In West Side Shootings

NORTH LAWNDALE — Separate West Side shootings left one man dead and another wounded on Monday, police said. 

At 1:43 p.m., a 22-year-old man was shot dead in West Humboldt Park, police said. He was parking a car in the 900 block of North Kedvale Avenue when someone in a car pulled alongside him and fired shots, police said.

The man was hit. He was identified as Harry Cannon Jr., of the 3600 block of West Lexington, in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records.

Cannon was pronounced dead at 5:36 p.m., and an autopsy showed he died of multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide, police said.

The man was a documented gang member, police sources said. 

At 3 p.m., a 24-year-old man was in the 1400 block of South Trumbull Avenue in North Lawndale when he was shot, police said.

The man, who was shot in the arm, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.

He was a documented gang member, police said.

No one was in custody.
