CHICAGO — A 26-year-old man was shot and wounded in South Chicago on Saturday, police said.

At 8:34 a.m., the man was standing outside in the 8300 block of South Colfax Avenue when a man came out of a gangway and fired shots at the man, police said.

The man was hit twice in his lower back and was taken to Northwestern Hospital in serious condition, police said.

The man was a documented gang member, police said, and officers thought the shooting was gang-related.
