LOGAN SQUARE — Opera-Matic is hosting its final "Joyful Passages Serenade" of the season at Mozart Park this weekend.

The event, designed to honor the neighborhood's "un-sung heroes and places," is set for 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Mozart Park's field house, 2036 N. Avers Ave.

Through songs and interactive visual art, the group will celebrate Eva Calderon, a dedicated parent and neighborhood leader who helped transform Mozart Elementary School and spearheaded several local education efforts.

Calderon, who died in 2012, was known as "mother for us all," according to Opera-Matic, a Humboldt Park-based collective focused on bringing visual arts to the streets.

The evening will also be spent celebrating the historic Ten Bruin Mustard factory, which operated across the park for 30 years.

Hot dogs topped with homemade mustard, as well as warm apple cider, will be served.
