Man, 62, Killed In Logan Square Hit-And-Run Crash

LOGAN SQUARE — An early Thursday hit-and-run crash in Logan Square left a man dead.

Around 4 a.m., a 2005 Chrysler 300 was traveling northbound in the 2500 block of North Western Avenue when the driver blew through a red light, hitting a 1994 Mazda, according to Chicago police.

Police said the driver of the Chrysler got out of the car and ran off.

The driver of the Mazda was taken to Illinois Masonic, where he was pronounced dead at 4:29 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

The morgue identified him as Aliser Maldonado, 62, of the 2800 block of North Milwaukee Avenue.

Police said no one is in custody said the major accidents investigation unit is investigating.
