DOWNTOWN — The World Series meant a boost for Airbnb renters in the city, but the home-renting company is hoping visitors wanting a piece of the Wrigleyville action will explore more than just the North Side.

During Game Three — the first of the series played at Wrigley Field — there were more than 7,740 Chicago spots for rent on Airbnb, according to the home-renting company. Just between September and October, listings in the neighborhoods around Wrigley Field grew by 6.6 percent, Airbnb said.

Those homes are spread throughout the city, with more than 95 percent of current listings being outside The Loop, Airbnb said.

And because Airbnb listings have filled up around Wrigley, the company wants people to try out homes in neighborhoods like Uptown, Englewood, Chinatown and Roseland, it said. Visitors would be able to take the CTA to be near Wrigley Field, according to Airbnb.

Austin, Garfield Park, Douglas Park and University Village are also close enough to the stadium to take a cab, Airbnb said, and have had some of the "strongest growth" in the city for listings.
