Chatham, Roseland Residents Warned After Series Of Armed Robberies

CHICAGO — Police are looking for men who robbed several people in Chatham and Roseland this month.

Police said two to four men approached people and robbed them at gunpoint or by force without a weapon.

The robberies occurred at the following times:

• 1:30 a.m. Oct. 5 in the 9200 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue

• 11:15 a.m. Oct. 15 in the 9400 block of South Calumet Avenue

• 4:42 p.m. Oct. 20 in the 9100 block of South King Drive

• 10:10 a.m. Oct. 24 in the 9400 block of South Champlain Avenue

• 8:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 9400 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue

The robbers were described as black men between 15 and 25 years old, between 5-foot-3 and 6-foot and weighing 130 to 170 pounds, police said. The robbers may be driving in a black Jeep or silver or grey vehicle, possibly a Toyota Sedan, police said.
