LOGAN SQUARE — The team behind Emporium Logan Square and Surf is collaborating with former Chilapan chef Jorge Miranda on a new venture selling unique burritos.

Their first creation? A Cubs-inspired hot dog burrito.

For $8, you can get the "Cubbie Dog," which is filled with an all-beef hot dog, French fries, yellow mustard, neon-green relish, grilled onions, fresh tomatoes, dill pickles, sport peppers, celery salt, poppy seeds and cheddar cheese.

It's just one of a few specialty burritos Miranda has created under the brand Burrito Lab, according to co-owner Danny Marks.

"We have been working really hard to make these really excellent," Marks said in an email, adding that a burrito inspired by Thanksgiving dinner is next.

The "Cubbie Dog," which is inspired by the team's first appearance in the World Series in 71 years, is now available at Surf, 2367 N. Milwaukee Ave., and on Grubhub.

Marks said Burrito Lab will also be running the food truck at Emporium, 2363 N. Milwaukee Ave., most of the time going forward.
