PORTLAND, ORE. — Even Sox superfan Chance The Rapper is supporting the Cubs this weekend.
The rapper from Chatham wore a Cubs hat to a Portland Trailblazers game Thursday night. The game against the Los Angeles Clippers was broadcast nationally on TNT.
Chance, who's playing a show in Portland, Ore., Friday night, was taking in the game with drummer Stix of The Social Experiment, Chance's backing band:
The hat is a different look for Chance, who grew up on 79th Street and was named team ambassador for the White Sox earlier this year. He's designed special caps for the club and hosted his "Magnificent Coloring Day" festival last month at U.S. Cellular Field.
The hat means Chance is joining the slew of Sox fans who are pulling for the (normally archrival) Cubs in the World Series. That group includes President Barack Obama, Chicago Bull Dwyane Wade and former Bulls star Derrick Rose.
The Cubs take on the Cleveland Indians about Friday evening in Game 3 of the World Series after splitting their first two games.
Don't worry, @chancetherapper. We're a second half team. pic.twitter.com/vGetlJJGpD
