HYDE PARK — The University of Chicago’s Rockefeller Chapel will employ all of its massive instruments to score a Halloween eve screening of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.”

The chapel, 5850 S. Woodlawn Ave., will screen the classic silent movie starring Lon Chaney at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Organist Dennis James will use the 8,565 pipes of the E.M. Skinner organ to help score the film live, but a much larger instrument will also be put to use.

Joey Brink will ring the carillon’s 72 bells to help James in the live accompaniment, putting one of the largest instruments in the world to use to score film.

The screening is $20, free for students and pass holders of the university’s Doc Films.
